Hi! I'm Celina, owner and creator of Woven Currents. I spent the majority of my life growing up next to the Pacific Ocean, spending endless hours of swimming, surfing, collecting shells, and exploring tide pools. The ocean is one of my greatest inspirations. My enthusiasm for the ocean soon began to translate through environmental stewardship. With a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Graduate Degree in Sustainability, it is my passion and daytime profession to protect and conserve waterways (rivers, streams, lakes and oceans) and the natural environment.
I began experimenting with macrame as a form of meditation and art in 2014. I've been trained through a variety of workshops and lessons since then. I found that each knot and weave reminded me of the different movements that the ocean produces. Though the ocean is not far from me, I started Woven Currents to bring the feel of the ocean into my Portland, Oregon home after I moved away from my hometown of Santa Monica, California.
